Three Common Objectives of Digital Marketing

It is important to have clear marketing objectives in mind when actively marketing your game, as it gives you a clear goal to work towards and reminds you of what must be done to achieve that goal. Having these goals in mine increases the chance of the marketing being successful. Three examples of marketing objectives are “double brand twitter followers by next month,” “spend an extra hour a day engaging in discussions relevant to my game” and “double the number of website visits by next month by advertising the website on various social media sites.” These are small, achievable goals which will have a good impact on my digital presence, which should in turn get my game more publicity.

"It’s not enough to just outline the marketing goals you want to accomplish. You also need to validate your plans and make sure they are practical, useful, and reasonable." (Kosaka, n.d.) The SMART framework is what allows you to do this.  It stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time bound.
