Two Email Marketing Techniques

Newsletters are a great way to engage your audience who have already signed up for email updates on your game. It keeps them interested by sharing development info, and it also reminds them that your game exists which is important come release time, as someone could have all the intention to buy your game, but they could easily forget about it without some reminding first. It also provides a medium for personal engagement with your audience through the means of tailoring specific emails to those who signed up for the newsletter at a specific event for example. This creates a better connection between the customer and your brand, thus increasing the likelihood of  a sale.

The delivery time of these emails is an important thing to take into account, as it can influence whether your email is actually read or not. According to campaignmonitor.com's data, "over half of all [email] opens happen between 9am – 5pm" (Hodgekiss, 2019) This is due to everyone checking their emails while at work, so scheduling emails to be sent out during this timeframe gives them the best chance of actually being read instead of buried amongst hundreds of other emails.
